Online shops have taken on a greater importance this year. As shops closed during lockdown shopkeepers looked for new ways to do business. Not only have online sales grown but also new and creative ways to sell have evolved. Necessity being the mother of invention, it is interesting to witness the creativity of so many shopkeepers.Thank you to everyone who voted and participated in our Best Online Shops 2020 campaign. We enjoyed discovering and exploring nominated shops and reading your comments. Most respondents remarked on how they missed the social interaction of shopping in real life, but enjoyed the ease and convenience of shopping online. Plus many commented on the joy of receiving packages and unwrapping their purchases.

We love that the Best Online Shops 2020 are varied and unique. From beautifully designed websites like Tatine‘s artisan hand-crafted candles and nature-inspired home goods by Bloomist. Charlotte Reiss weaves her French home and lifestyle into her home decor website, Vivi et Margot. We love the charming children’s websites Shirley Bredal that offers knits handmade in Nepal and Merrilee Liddiard‘s heirloom rag dolls. Goodee is a global marketplace focused on transparent sourcing, upcycling and ethical practices. Nalata Nalata and Aporta both have brick & mortar shops in New York and Missoula. Nalata Nalata’s unique website is reflective of their beautiful shop, and Aporta’s customer service both in store and online was voted exceptional. Roam Vintage and Maison Cléo both have unique selling styles. Roam Vintage drops new product twice a week that sell out fast. Maison Cléo’s online shop opens once a week posting styles that are made to order. Each online shop has an engaging story that captures the imagination and makes each shopping experience feel personal.
