Brooklyn-based artist Samantha Dion Baker loves to draw. Her favorite thing to do is wander the city streets and travel with her family. Along the way, Samantha draws all of the things she does, eats, and sees in the pages of her sketch journal. Lucky for us she also loves to draw shopfronts so we are delighted to feature Samantha Dion Baker’s shopfront illustration on The Shopkeepers March 2022 Calendar. Her charming illustration is of Marlow & Daughters, a whole animal butcher and grocery shop offering delicious prepared food. This eye-catching, blue-painted food store is located in Williamsburg at 95 Broadway.

Samantha’s regular sketchbook practice is chronicled on her Instagram account. She has penned several books on the art of keeping a daily sketch journal and offers workshops and private lessons.
