Lizz Spano

There is an amazing creative community that contribute to The Shopkeepers. Notably the photographers that generously share their images here, on The Shopkeepers website, and on our Instagram account. We realize that there is no way we can share all the lovely shops that exist in the world without this talented community of photographers that contribute to our platform. So we are honoring some of those creatives by shining a spotlight on their work. Lizz Spano is a NYC based photographer and business owner. Her creative agency, Type 2 Creative specializes in travel, food and lifestyle content creation which is evident on her Instagram grid. Follow Lizz Spano on Instagram @seethecity_seethezoo named in honor of her favorite band.

When Lizz is not traveling or roaming around New York City with a camera in hand you can usually find her eating at a delicious restaurant, reading photography, food, fashion and technology blogs, playing Spelling Bee in the New York Times games section (addicted!) or at a Phish show (her favorite band she’s seen over 250 times.  See The City, See The Zoo is the first line of one of my favorite songs.)Thank you Lizz for sharing your photos, tips and insights.

“I love that Instagram allows me to share my photography and snippets of my life with my loyal audience of fans, friends and family.  It’s also allowed me to meet so many wonderful, likeminded people – some of which are now very close friends.”

What do you think of reels vs posts? Reels are super cool!  It’s be fun learning how to perfect short form videos and watch the incredible creativity of the world unfold. I’m learning about some new music too!  I do wish Instagram would go back to weighing photo content equally to reels.  As a business owner with many responsibilities it’s sometimes challenging to balance my time to produce the kind of content the platform wants to see these days.
