WHAT WE LOVE

The Sill plant shop was founded in New York City in 2012 by Eliza Blank. After experiencing the benefits of filling her first apartment in Chinatown with house plants, Eliza was inspired to start The Sill and promote the advantages of living with plants. The Sill coined the phrase " Plants Make People Happy," and that is what they have been doing since opening their first store on the Lower East Side (now, sadly closed) in 2014. Since opening their first store they have opened shops on the Upper West Side and in Brooklyn and have expanded to San Francisco, Bethesda, and Chicago.

They offer online and in person workshops, plenty of plant advice, and same day delivery. The Sill supports family-owned businesses, selecting plants are from local growers. They offer a selection of pots and planters and have a re-potting service.
