WHAT WE LOVE
The Moss & Green is a plant shop specializing in Japanese Kokedama and Bonsai in Brooklyn's Williamsburg neighborhood. In 2021, following pop-ups and a stint at the Artists & Fleas market, The Moss & Green founder and green thumb, May Carroll opened a brick & mortar shop sharing the space with Cornershop , a Brooklyn outpost for Japanese stationery brand Hightide .
Kokedama is a style of bonsai using moss balls. Sculptural and unique, May coaxes all manner of tropical plants and ferns to grow out of moss balls that are beautifully displayed on complementary Japanese ceramic dishes and pots.
