WHAT WE LOVE

One Girl Cookies opened on the ground floor of a Cobble Hill townhouse in 2005 and serves the brand's signature tea cookies, cupcakes, pastries, cakes, Partners coffee, and Bellocq Tea. There are vegan cookie options, seasonal cakes, breakfast and light lunch fare.

The store's wall is decorated with a giant family tree of the owner's, Dawn Casale and Dave Crofton, family tree and vintage family photographs. Dawn a former accessories manager at Barney's started baking cookies out of her apartment in 2000, as her fledgling business grew she hired pastry chef Dave, later becoming partners in life as well as business. On warm days the folding garage door lifts up for a lovely indoor-outdoor dining experience.

Industry City, a historic warehousing and manufacturing complex in Brooklyn's Sunset Park, is home to a second One Girl Cookies.

"Our bakery's foundation is based on attention to detail, delivering joy with each bite, and making people feel special."
