Since the pandemic started small businesses have reduced capacity, temporarily or permanently closed and resulted in more people shopping online. Independent shops in cities bereft of tourists and commuters have had a particularly hard time. So we are wondering what is the future of brick & mortar retail. We still believe strongly in independent retail and the experience of shopping in person. Small shops that add vibrancy, character and community to our villages, towns and cities.
