Outfit Home is an eclectic vintage furniture and accessories shop in Hollywood, California. Interior designer and proprietor Alison Koch established Outfit Home, the shop, in 2014. Alison stocks items that she uses in client’s projects and her own home. There is a wonderful mix of vintage accessories and furniture, found objects, and items designed and produced by California locals. Popular pieces are Felize Diaz Ceramics, J1 Studio modern barstools, Brooke Perdigon pillows and throws as well as custom furniture designed by Outfit Home. Outfit Home’s customers include interior designers, clients, friends and neighborhood locals.
Interior designer Alison Koch spent over fifteen years working for design firms Orlando Diaz-Azcuy in San Francisco and Waldo’s Designs in Los Angeles before founding her own design firm three years ago. While getting started in design, she also curated vintage furniture for a clothing website and had amassed a wonderful collection that led to the opening of Outfit Home. When looking for office space, Alison came across a run down plumbing supply store with personality. With some vision and a little renovation, the concept for the Outfit Home shop was born. Alison loves the flexibility of having a shop as it allows her to collect and purchase items without a specific project in mind. She loves JF Chen in LA, Alan Moss in New York, March in San Francisco and the rural flea markets of Missouri.
On the Future of Retail
“Online shopping will continue to grow but a brick and mortar will never become obsolete. You can’t replicate the tactile experience you get when you walk into a well curated, well thought out shop space.”
