Lou Loxley

There is an amazing creative community that contribute to The Shopkeepers. Most notably the photographers that generously share their images here, on The Shopkeepers website, and on our Instagram account. We realize that there is no way we can share all the lovely shops that exist in the world without the talented community of photographers that contribute to our platform. So we are honoring some of those creatives by shining a spotlight on their work in this series. We love the ethereal beauty captured on the Instagram grid of Louise Loxley aka lou.loxley.

The talented Louise, originally from Derbyshire, has lived in North London with her partner for over 20 years. She captures her images on an iPhone, and even though Louise doesn’t own a camera she’d like to invest in one soon. For editing, Louise uses VSCO.

Louise frequently shares vintage shops, bookstores and flower shops on her Instagram grid. Her favorite London shops are Black Gull Books in East Finchley; Muswell Hill’s Second Nature; Keith Fawkes, a vintage and antique shop in Hampstead; as well as Urban Flower Co. in Crouch End. All of which regularly feature in her feed.

Farther afield, Louise’s favorite shops in Lincolnshire are The Old Maltings Antique Shop in Louth, Great Expectations and Albany House Antiques, both in Horncastle. In Cromford, Derbyshire, Louise also loves bookstore, Scarthin Books.
