Bon, a home, garden and clothing shop in Tucson, Arizona opened in 2005. Located in a beautiful historic shopping plaza, its interiors reflect its desert environs. Natural elements make the shop come alive. Interspersed throughout the shop are tumbleweeds, dried bouquets, and succulents. Products are an interesting mix of clothing from small brands, and include home wares from John Derian, Patch NYC and Coral & Tusk. Bonnie and Crystal Flynt are the mother and daughter team behind Bon. Bonnie opened her first shop 16 years ago. Ten years ago Crystal left New York and a career in visual display to open Bon with her mother. Inspired by well made products and the passion that goes into creating them, they travel throughout the US, Mexico and Europe to find beautiful items to share with their customers. Presentation is important and they like the juxtaposition of refined and rustic; new and old; and east and west. Such as a Bolivian frazada, a white coverlet from Portugal, a tumbleweed and a John Derian plate. Bon has a small online shop that changes every couple of months. Bonnie and Crystal have fun being creative, putting products together in different ways. They collect antique toy animals, tumbleweeds and good denim. They enjoy being part of a wider mercantile community, visiting and supporting favorite shops; John Derian, Patch NYC, Pod, Joanne Rossman, Stag, and Astier de Villatte. They believe there is nothing better than creating their own space, supporting the things they have a passion for, meeting wonderful people and creating something out of nothing.
