Jane Carroll had always dreamt of having her own shop to sell her quilts, clocks and cards. After graduating from art college she left Dublin to work in design studios in New York and London before starting her own design company. She is well known for her children’s quilts, which have been sold in Harrods, Heals and The Conran Shop as well as many boutiques throughout the UK and Ireland. After returning to Ireland, she seized the perfect opportunity to open the first Jane Carroll Design shop when the tiny shop space next door to her home became available. She filled the small shop with a colorful assortment of wooden toys and children’s clothes that complemented her designs. As her range became more extensive, including fun children’s helmet covers, she moved the shop to a bigger premise in the nearby village. Jane loved designing the space and all the fixtures and details, even the wallpaper. She now sells her quilts exclusively through her shop and online, and they continue to be a popular choice as gifts, especially as they can now be personalized. Designing the shop she included an area where she can design and paint during quieter moments, and mentions in the future that she would love to design wallpaper and a small line of children’s clothing. For now she is thrilled with her new shop and enjoys meeting new customers. She loves interacting with clients learning what they like, and hearing from customers who are still using quilts they bought from her 14 years ago.
